Hypertech PTM What’s it do?
My new to me 96 LT4 came with a Hypertech PTM piggybacked onto my ECM. I can’t find jack on the internet concerning what this thing does. Anyone know? Fans don’t come on any earlier. Hit almost 235 before they kicked on. I’m half tempted to take this thing out.

looks like the connection that would normally run to the PCM goes to the Hypertech, then runs back to the PCM.

I did a search and found this on a site called PerformanceCenter.com:
Edit: I just went back to re-read your first post and notice you say you have an LT4. When I went through the prompts for this thing it asked for transmission type and only offered Automatic as an option. The LT4 with manual trans has different tuning from the LT1 with automatic, it sounds like this thing is designed for the LT1. If it was me I'd get rid of it as it's likely not optimized for your engine.
