The plastic OEM headlights are easier on the motors. The glass replacements probably should be avoided if you can find the plastic housing lights. I used bronze. Have had the one replacement for years, the other is original and fine for now. I have the plastic lights. Don't know if still available.

I replaced mine with plastic. It was way cheaper than the bronze, and frankly I don't have money to be throwing around.
My gears failed after I had bought the car. I figure if the original plastic gears worked for 31 years, I don't have anything to worry about.
