3d printed a template to ensure repeatable placement of the new holes and flanges. How far we are off... Cut out the excess material, and to make welding a bit easier. Fill whats left of the old holes. stuff is real thick need around 180 amps to the get a weld pool. I milled the flanges 2mm below the machined bearing mating surface. just contoured the flanges to fit the caliper mating surface. about 1/8" of clearance from the anti rattle weights to the barrel of the wheel. (18") before there was 1/4" of interference.
Nice work on the knuckle modification. A milling machine is something I would like to get...need more garage space. I took a closer look and I do have the same radial misalignment. I guess I was just so stoked to find a cheap big brake mod that I missed that part. I have been running these for at least 1,000 miles including a couple of track events with no problems, other than the pads are wearing strangely. I'm going to start looking for an actual fix for this either in a larger rotor or a whole new brake setup.
I apologize to anyone that was mislead by the information I posted. I've made the video private so that no one else makes the mistake.
I had an almost biggest brakes moment too, I think it was C6 Z51 brakes. The larger 14" rotor and it almost fit and IIRC sat to far outboard like this.
So I’ve measured up a set of corvette c6 z06 rotors under a set of 2016 Camaro ss 4 piston calipers. I used 2 washers that are roughly a total of 8 mm under each bolt . The bolts are about 3/8 too short to safely mount but everything looks centered and rotor spins freely. Anyone ever try this?
