My recent bought 93' zf6 lt1 corvette and have started the fix it till its perfect phase. The steering wheel wobble was horrible. So after the car stopped over heating I decided to tackle this. To start the car you needed to pull the wheel to the left, turn ignition on, let go of the wheel a bit then press the clutch in to turn the car on. I always thought it was just the wheel wobble so i bought the oversized pin from Zr1specialist. Once i started the job i noticed there was no pin on the car. I proceeded to put the new one in. After I mounted to the steering column to the car I attempted to start the car and nothing. The car would not go ignition on. Please help.
i dropped the column again and the connectors at the bottom are all connected. Its honestly spaghettis down there and a lot of it does not look oem. Someone else has been down there and left a mess. There is a few things not connected and i rly don't know what to do
You have an electric issue and not VATS. First thing is confirm you battery cables are hooked up and tight. Do not forget the positive cable on the starter is tight. Everything routs from that for the most part. If you think your battery cables are fine and tight, turn your headlights on, if they do not function then it is a power problem with the battery and cables.
the battery cables are tight and the headlights do work. I changed the terminals and got a new battery first week of ownership and driven it before. Something to add; when i would drive the car it would shut off if i moved the steering column too much.
Broken wire or lose connector. You are going to have to spend quality time under dash with test light. I find it helpful to remove the seat as you may be there a bit.

figured. well i have my multimeter. first i need to check where the ignition wire leads to and if its receiving power. will keep updated
Guys i found out its not an electrical problem. The skinny metal bar that gets moved by the ignition is out of place. I tried moving it into place and it is not easy. Ive considered getting a new column because I seriously believe it is not a repairable issue. It also explains why ive needed to mess with the steering wheel when i turned on the car. Please any and all input helps
Ok did the rod pop out of the switch and did anyone have the switch off. You can unbolt the switch and install the rod back in it. It is very odd and not sure it can just pop out, so I'm guessing the switch had been loosened or removed for some reason.

I dont know what the white box switch is for but there a rod on top of that one and that is the one controlling the ignition. The part that grabs the rod isnt grabbing it. I believe i bent it when installing the oversized pin. I was able to start the car and now i am unsure if a column is rebuildable.
this is for a 1992 corvette but it looks identical
