Re: Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters (aggie88)
The Co. is just downthe street from me. The owner is a vette enthusiast. Now a day's he runs a C5. He is also know for his C4 tuning. I'd bet he is on the board somewhere.
I have used their stuff, I have no complaints. I have found them to be a big improvement over stock, but that isn't saying a whole lot. TPIS usually has very good $ for them.
Re: Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters (ZZZASY)
when emmissions comes back to ct im getting a pair. they are the only ones that will fit with longtube headers & tru duel exhaust. they are as long as a pen & only like 3 1/2 inches wide!
Re: Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters (ZZZASY)
Who sells high flow cats for a 96 LT4? I know random makes them, but I've never seen anyone selling them.
ZZZASY
Try http://www.martelbros.com, they are a spped shop just west of Houston. With the positive comments on these products, I may give them a try. Seems like a logical step before going for the headers, esp since they hook up my 95 to the sniffer once a year here in Houston. Sure wish someone had some empirical data on their performance enhancement.

Re: Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters (aggie88)
I've got them with my Hooker shorties and Corsa. Pulls much harder now but couldn't tell you if it was all these in concert or just one or two of the new components. The RT cats are MUCH smaller and lighter than the stock ones. I'm NOT sorry I installed them!
Re: Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters (aggie88)
I put a Random Tech cat & Power Effects exhaust on my '86. There was so much resonance that I took the Random Tech cat off, and put an original cat back on. That cut down on some of the resonance. Then I heavily soundproofed the interior, and I now have a car I like driving and will keep that way. The two together (RT & PE) just let too much engine noise through in the 1800-2200 range. But a '95 may have completely different exhaust characteristics. Just be aware that it will let more noise (and resonance) through. May be objectionable, may not.
