I was changing the front bumper cover on my 86, and planned on making a cold air induction. My original plan, I found wouldn't work... what I did come up with was to cut the air filter housing in half, just past the bend where it drops down on top of radiator shroud. I flipped the air filter housing so that the intake side was facing the shroud, and then made pieces of sheet metal to match the new angle, rivoted pieces together. The only thing left to do is, cut out the opening in the radiator shroud for the fresh air. My car is a Z51, so it has the extra fan in front of the radiator, so the hole needs to be were the bolts hold the fan in. I thought I'd just make the hole smaller, or just cut on both sides of fan mount, and reinforce the strip that would be left holding the fan in place.
If anyone's interested I can maybe post some photos tomorrow. :smash: :smash: :smash:
