85 Corvette black plugs
Hello , We ar etrying to get my 85 4 plus 3 running. New plugs, injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, blew out the lines and cleaned the tank. Spark plugs are black. Timing is correct. Any ideas? thank you

or are they something that you pulled and have a horrible build up, if so an 85 possible High mileage extended inactive Engine could have Dried out broken Valve seals and worn Guides.
Also look at O2 sensor could be Tired they are a wear Item

Is the engine dropping into closed loop at all, that would be my first question. 85 is unique but the right scanner should tell you.

Hey guys these are some great responses. With respect to the injectors they are 24 lbs, stock according to South Bay fuel injection. Purchased in July 2023. I do have a data logging program on my laptop. So we are going to install a set of 22 lbs and run the datalog. We will data log it asap. I did the heads 3 years ago. Oddly enough the plugs got black when I started the car on Guam. Yes, Guam. I want to thnak you all. And, I will update as soon as I now more.
