I got tired of the erratic idle for no reason. And I will be installing a new engine in the next year . The system is pretty easy to install. I completely removed the ecm under the hood on my 90. I put the fitech ecu in its place. I put the fitech fuse box under the ecu. There is a positive that hooks to the starter and negative to the head. System is pretty much plug and play. There is a key switch wire to turn it on. There is a tach lead and ac lead. The ac lead doubles as a nitrous switch. If using nos disable ac and feed a positive or negative and the nos map goes into use. I went with the dual 02 option as it's only 100.00 more and it makes no sense to only read one side. It has a speedometer lead but I am not using it as I have a GPS speedometer. It also has auto transmission controllers. The car starts instantly and feels like a different motor is installed. Setting up takes maybe 5 minutes and the ecu auto learns. It can also be tuned. It comes with a display that allows setup. The display can be removed after programming. Or it can be left in to view any data you want. I would say this is the single best thing I have done to my c4.
I'm glad to see more and more people installing this system and having good results. I've had it in my Summit Racing cart more than once but keep going back to tuning the factory system. Thanks for sharing your experience with it
I've installed a FAST EZ EFI ecu on my 1990 L98. It was in my daughter's Full size Blazer but just pulled it to put in my sons c4. The engine ran amazing. Been around these TPIs since the beginning and it really runs way different. Super snappy throttle response . Only had shorty headers and a simple intake. It has the dual sync distributor and a separate coil. That's it. Only issue was with the micro relay couldn't support the current draw for the fuel pump. I ended up just triggering the factory relay from the FAST ecu trigger and no more issues. It should be nice running c4 with this set up. I have a FI tech body that's going into the blazer with a 5.7 from an 84 c4 to slow it down a bit. Simple rebuild . Nothing fancy .

Part of the problem with the factory ECM IMO is the factory code has too many tables and variables that control accelerator enrichment, combined with no ECM self-learning.
Once you get right, it does run phenomenally. But it takes a lot of trial and error.
It was actually pretty easy to get it right from the start. No issues really. The set up was straight forward and knowing the values it was looking for it literally started right up the first time. Only real issue was the idle target /iac. Was a little tricky due to cam and vacuum. My vac was right on edge of 9 to 10 inches of vacuum. Once I messed around with it a bit it settled out. The rest was easy. When I convert my car from the EZ EFI 2.0 to the XFI and need to do a real tune I'm sure I'll be scratching my head , but I do have an OK handle on tuning it'll work out.
