I have two distributors for my '88. One seems to be the correct Corvette and the other seems to be from a 3rd gen Camaro or something similar.
I know the major differences are the pickup coil and the hold down method being either physical screws or the locking twist clamps.
Any other differences between the two? I ask because I need to replace the pick-up coil in the 3rd gen version and noticed a very significant difference in price between the two.
My apologies if this has been asked before but it didn't come up when I did a search.
The 3rd Gen one is part#1103460 and the Vette one is #1103680.
My question isn't what is the "correct" distributor for the Vette but what is the operational difference since they both use the same module and have the same connectors.Unless it simply boils down to the Vette one being much harder to change the cap since it has screws so they could justify the extra $$.
