Hi I bought some ACDELCO 2173454 Gold, for a 1987 C4 Corvette. Rockauto says they fit but I wanted to confirm that. They're slightly longer than the originals. Has anyone used these before?

Good god they are expensive. How many did you buy? If it were me, id send them back and buy a set of Bosch III from Fuel Injection Connection or South Bay Fuel Injectors.

I would. The Bosch III has a superior spray pattern. And you can use the 300 dollars you will save on performance upgrades.

Btw. Now that you've replaced your fuel tank and likely already filled it, the next time you fill up, can you make mental note to see how long and strong of a woosh sound you get when you take the fuel cap off to refuel again?

Ever since I replaced my tank, that thing wooshes pretty strong for a good five seconds. Maybe even a couple of seconds longer. I've read around the board but opinions seems to vary on it. I think it should be that way. It is a closed system, after all.
I had a slight woosh noise upon taking off the gas cap upon first fill up with the new tank. Never did that before, most likely due to my old tank never being able to pressurize properly. Noise isn't obscene though.

Are these a direct replacement or do they need to be retuned?

Direct replacement. Installation is slightly different. I had mine in and out twice with no issues.

Oh, good. Then you have good pressure. You'll probably get a nice long one the next time you refuel, after you burn off what you just filled, I bet. Thanks for checking that out.

I tried a few brands with my stock prom, until it ran like OEM. FIC was the solution.

Just installed Bosch 3 from SouthBayFuelInjectors. They comme with a billet aluminum extension to match the exact length of the Multecs. No Leaks.

To be honest, I didn't expect such a difference. My 89 Vette was still doing EPA fuel burn with the old Multecs (she only has 32k miles). But the bosch 3 is a different beast:

Much smoother response at any rpm, it just feels like a modern car. Didn't imagine that a better spray pattern could have so much impact on driving experience.

I didn't have to retune (car is 100% stock, those are the 22lbs ones).

I bought a set from from Southbay too. I also swapped in an adjustable regulator while I was in there. Didn't fix my problem, which ended up being bad clamps on the pulsator delete. (The plastic clamps supplied are crap)

Even though this is a 2 year old thread, I bought 22lb Bosch III's from southbay and the part number on them is for 19lb injectors.

I just installed the same ones from SouthBay on my '90 a few weeks back.

They're 22s, even though the part number indicates 20lb.

They're noisy as heck, though. You can hear em ticking from inside the car at a red light.

Hopefully they'll settle down and get a bit quieter, but I'm not so sure they will.

Think that's just the way they are.

How's it run? It's been interesting reading about some people needing tuning and some not.

I don't feel much, if any, difference between these and the Delphi injectors I swapped em out for honestly. But it runs fine.

0280155710 is the part number on mine, btw.

Still haven't got used to the yellow though...

Listen to your fuel pressure regulator with a mechanics stethoscope or the screwdriver trick, you might just find the speed of the bosch III's open and close so fast they make the fuel pressure regulator slap. I can find it easily by listening to the return fuel line coming off the fuel rail.

That's why they have dampers in some fuel rails isn't it?
