88 Corvette belt close to frame

Default 88 Corvette belt close to frame

I just picked up this 49,000 mile C4, and I noticed that the belt and pulley seem awful close to the frame. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about?

If it has the original motor mounts they have probably sagged quite a bit. I replaced with hew poly mounts and it took it up an easy 1/4 inch+.

Yeah, getting your belt tensioner pully bolt out will be a real pain too with saggy motor mounts...ask me how I know...

By the way, do you know any good videos or guides to replacing the motor mounts? I'm sorta new to owning a Vette and cars in general lol. From what I've seen it looks like quite a task though.

Just did mine with poly a year ago. I did do a small write up about it. Fairly easy. Support engine from top with hoist, remove long frame bolts then motor mounts. Biggest PITA is WHEN you drop a bolt, it goes right into the k member and is a pain to retrieve. Get a decent small magnet tool and also one of those finger magnets - they work.
