I have been looking at the claw to replace my stock intake. Have you guys ever heard of someone using a cold air port though the lisence plate cover directly piped though the center leg of the claw?
I am playing with the idea and was wondering if anybody has tried it or has heard of it done?
If you are just looking for cold air then I wouldn't bother. Sometime back someone posted a message that they put thermocouples around the engine compartment and at the air cleaner after driving 50-100' at 10-15mph the air temp at the air box was same as ambient temp.
The factory stuff has all sorts of turns, ducts, shields and obstructions. The aftermarket stuff doesnt.
I have the plate from AO and opened the passages through the bumper, crossmember and directly onto the KN open air box. You could do the same with the claw, it wont work anybetter though!
