It used to come on all of the time whenever I went for an evening cruise in my '90 coupe.
I've always chalked it up to a bad EGR valve. It's one of those ''I'll get to it when I feel like it'' kind of deals, so I put it on the back burner until I felt like pulling the plenum.
Anyway. Long story short, I replaced my cat a month or so back because it was starting to fall apart inside.
Ever since I replaced the cat, I haven't got a SES light at all. Whenever it came on previously, it returned a 32.
Is it likely or possible that the cat was what was causing the SES/Code 32?
I've got a doctor's appointment in a few days and I'm gonna take I-95 on a full tank of Shell 93 octane V-Power Nitro+ so that'll likely be the vehicle's last good run this year before I put it away. It'll be a perfect opportunity to cruise steady so I'll see what happens then, but in the mean time I'm just curious whether the crumbling cat that I replaced might have had anything to do with the SES/Code 32.
