Looking to freshen the 30yr old injector and tossing around new vs rebuilt/serviced via FIC. Any disadvantage to rebuilt? From what I’ve heard the 24# should keep up with my built, specs below.
Specs
355 LT1
Stock type 30 over pistons
Decked block
LT1 heads ported by LE with matching intake, oversized valves
Small Comp cam. Cc502. 1.6 rr
Recently went through this for my 355ci hotcam 93. I stepped up to 30# (rebuilt) units from FIC as my data logs indicated the stock injectors were running 100% duty cycle at times.
overall I’m happy with them, however I did have some issues with the first set of injectors from FIC.
I also bought refurbished 30lb Bosch IIIs from FIC. I’ve been very happy with them.
If it matters to you, you probably won’t get the same colored injectors you see displayed on their site. Mine arrived and were a beige color with “30” engraved on the front.
Thank you both, I’ll need to see where my duty cycle is, but it wouldn’t be a terrible thing to have some buffer with a bigger injector. Especially if I go bigger cam in the future.
how did you determine 30 was right for your combo? Just a logical step up?
Tuning for a larger injector, at least in my mind, doesn’t seem like it will be too much of an issue. Change injector constant and then attack the VE tables again.
I can't remember what the duty cycle was reaching on my 24lb injectors but it was above the recommended threshold. FIC has 26lb injectors but I went for 30lbs just to have some breathing room.
If your tune is in good shape with the 24lb injectors, moving up to the 30s should be easy to get tuned. Like you said, injector flowrate and VE tables are going to get the bulk of that sorted.
Agree with the other comments. I went with 30# injectors based on recommendation from Alvin at PCM of NC a couple years back. Not sure if he is still there but they were able to update my tune accordingly.
The first set of 30# injectors I got from FIC had a flow issue resulting in some super lean operating points, which was odd. After going back and forth a few times with FIC and PCM of NC it was clear there was an injector issue. FIC sent me a new set and all has been well since.
If you're looking for 30 lb/hr, I'd get 0280-155-759... they have the exact datasheet so you know you have the correct voltage offsets. I've been running them for a few years now.
I did a little datalog yesterday and calculated over 90% duty cycle on the 24s. I don’t have the wide band in at the moment, but I suspect the full throttle fueling needs work yet, as I haven’t touched that since before the rebuild.
With the all the fake parts sold online these days I trust very few places, typically Summit, sometimes Jegs, and of course I’d be ok with a forum sponsor like FIC.
Tossing two options around… rebuilt 30 from FIC. SVO 30, it not sure on correct p/n where to find

Can ask SouthBay Fuel Injectors for a set of 8 0280155759. Then use the datasheet I posted.
