Default Life in 6-7 hours...

In about 6 hours the auto parts store opens and I can buy the new bolts I need for my plenum (note, dont buy the TPiS SS Bolt kit, the bolts are made of clay and heads tear apart with very little effort). After the parts store its Curcuit City time to buy a video camera :D... Once the intakes back in place its time to turn the key and hear my baby live!

For the few that paid any attention, the car wouldnt start, starter turned, got spark, had fuel pressure. Tried to 180 the ignition with no luck (did get a cool backfire with decent flame outa the header, its on friends camera too :p: . Checked with a timing light and had spark in each cylinder, verified it with a spark checker. Got a injector Noid, checked each injector plug and got a signal. Picked up a fuel pressure guage and came in at ~45... Air wasnt a problem...
Grabbed a can of starter fluid and gave it a squirt... VROOOM starts up, dies off as the person holding the cans arm hair is cinged (backfired through the intake, damn timing).
But it told us that the problem was fuel delivery. So we pulled the plenum, yanked the fuel rail/injectors up as much as we could without removing the runners. Tested one by one (using the 12v hookup for my waterpump and the 9th injector plug) the injectors for fuel output. 8-nothing, 6-nothing, switch to other side (easiest to get too), 1-nothing, 3-gas!
I just happen to have a SuperRam with another set of injectors, go grab that and test them and get a click outa each one... Swap em out for the bad ones, 7 out of the 8 injectors I pulled of, NO CLICK. Worse part, they were cleaned/inspected (I sure wont be using THAT FI shop again for anything!).

So anyways, now that I do have fuel she should start right up, cant wait!
I will have video camera rolling, and DB meter measuring (did I mention LPE headers with 90degree turn downs? :D

Too excited to sleep!

I look forward to posting good news :p:

Look forward to seeing what she can do at LACR also, not expecting too much, but hopeing for low 13's high 12's before the rest of the mods go on (my ported superram and some heads(?)).
By the next LACR Challenge it'll be broken in nicely for sure.

Question for you, how'd you do on emmisions with the SuperRam and Hookers? Or was it "taken care of"? :D

I swapped on the SR and the headers on about an hour after passing the smog test :D good to go for 2 years :D
How did you port your SR? Mine will be coming off soon, and it will need to be able to flow better in the very near future
:D
Looking forward to seeing your work racing down the strip. Just don't miss the the event by not setting the alarm :D and sleeping right thru it  :D

Good to hear! Hope everything works out as planned. If you fly east, you'll get a store that's open sooner.

Did you say you had an extra superram laying around? :D I'll trade you for 7 good injectors.

LOL, hrmmm... I'll pass on the trade :p:

Its laying around cause its too much intake for these heads I am afraid, and I didnt get it untill after this manifold was put on. And these heads were milled too much and would require milling that manifold, which I dont wanna do.

It was ported by LPE. Its John Lingenfelters SuperRam (his actual one, off his old 90 Corvette) from what I was told the SuperRam runner and plenum are probably the first off the production line, and the manifold is a GM Manifold that was used to make the SuperRam manifold... So I have NO idea how much its been ported in comparison to others that they do, I will be getting a flow test done at some point. Beach Bum swapped his normal one for a ported one, last I talked to him he was expecting a 2-3 tenths gain on the 1/4. OUch about the alarm ;) Working nights does things like that though :(
Well, 22 minutes and PepBoys opens... guess I better go be the first in line ;)
Thanks for the confidence boost :D
