Default Petris Opti rotor alignment

If I open up my new Petris to check this, I void the warranty. The spline drive has a stripe painted on it. I'm guessing that's to show where the rotor is pointed. Am I correct on that? Also, the existing one had no stripe, but does have 2 splines that are different. I'm guessing those are for the same purpose. Here's a pic. I could open it up, but then I risk moving the rotor. I also don't trust painting a marker on it to show where it was if it gets moved. With my luck, it would rub off somehow.

Thanks. While I was messing with it, I realized that I really need better glasses. The "stripe" isn't painted on a spline. It's painted on the middle of the raised area that prevents intake the Opti incorrectly.
Think Homer Simpson, "DOH!!!!"
