Used the Mad kit. I lowered the rear 1 1/8" but the front only went down 3/8". The car is Level now +/- 1/8" so now there is no rake, and it looks pretty level now. Seemed like alot of work tearing apart the front end for a lousy 3/8". I will have to have the alignment rechecked. But it drove fine when I ran it around to help the suspension settle. Boy these old GSCs suck on cold salt covered roads. Any more than a 1/4 throttle in 1st,2nd,3rd and I went sideways with no traction :steering:
I don't know if your car is the best kept example of a GS out there, but in your sig picture it looks awesome. That is one sweet car!
Considering I drive the car, race it,autox, and do a high speed road course at Pocono I keep the car very clean, and it is very good condition. Our camera has been taking some crappy pictures latley.
The lift is mine in our new garage we built over the summer. (didn't hire anyone for anything) The lift is a backyard Buddy. I orderd it at Carlisle this year. It was around $3200, but I got some other stuff for a total of $4200. Worth every penny!

Re: Finished lowering the car, (RichS)
I just lowered my front end today also. 3/8" sounds about like what I got, maybe 1/2". I'll have to compare it later, as I'm giving it the chance to hopefully settle more.
My alignment sucks though... makes driving tiring. I think I'll leave so I can wear these crappy tires out faster, and then get the alignment done.
Love the lift. I bet it didn't take you 5 hours to do it!
I lowered the rear on mine, so the car now has about 1" of rake as measured on the frame jacking points, not the body. If I only get 3/8" out of the front, I'm not sure it would be worth it!
Beautiful GS. It's nice to see someone who races and keeps the car so clean. I used to do the same thing a few years ago. Came in first in an AutoX one weekend, took second at a car show the next. I lowered my car with the Mad kit too. It didnt go down much either so I filed the wedges down to just a quarter of an inch thick and epoxied them back on. The car looks much better.
Just a question for you but wouldnt you like some rake for your high speed events?
I lowered mine about 6 mo. ago with the VBP kit. The kit dropped the front 1/2"-3/4", I then removed one of the stock aluminum spacers. After a few weeks the car finally settled, I had approximately 1" drop in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear. I also want with the VBP Advanced Street Alignment Specs...made a very noticeable difference handling and tracking.
