Default Reinstalling the front cover

I'm attempting to reinstall the front bumper cover on my '84, and can't get it that last 1/2 inch or so to get it over the reinforcement.

The cover is in place at the bottom and the openings are clear of the fog lamps. Is there some "weird trick" I'm missing?

TIA

Try getting the top edge started and then get the bottom done last. The bottom has more flex.

Tried that, but then I can't get the fog lamp openings over the impact absorbing piece.

Yeah its a little tricky. If no one else shows the FSM page i can in a few hours. But yes the top gets hooked at the same time as light assys. You dont think it will possibly fit but then it does.

Thanks, I'll try a more straight-on approach rather than the bottom first method.

And of course for installation it just says reverse procedure...I have a fiberglass bumper and it flexes enough to install. Im sure the urethane is even easier..

Thanks for the page pic and advice. I'll take another run at it as soon as it warms up about 20* around here

Mine pops on and off rather quickly and easily. I'm surprised you're having such a tough time with it.
