What I thought was a leaking bad O-ring at the speed sensor on my trans was a bad speed sensor that was leaking
A run up to NAPA Auto parts and $35.00 later the leak was fixed
Empty the trans of fluid and then use a 14 MM socket and a med length wrench, pull the bolt out holding the clamp on top of the speed sensor, pull out the sensor put in the new one and your finished :yesnod: :yesnod:

I had the same problem back in October. I also bought a sensor from Napa and put it in; oil leak cured  Well, my speedometer was going crazy and my tranny was slipping like hell :reddevil I took the Napa part out and took it back since it was a POS. I hit the Chevy dealer and bought the original part for 6 dollars more and it worked perfectly  I'm glad yours worked for you, maybe I got a bad part from Napa.
