Has anyone who ordered them a while ago recieved them yet??? I ordered mine Oct. 14 and still dont have them. Last time I talked to them, Merle said mid January. Well its getting to be late January and still no headers, nad no word from them as to whats going on! Need to give them a call tomorrow. Has anyone heard anything different??
I dealt with Exotic Muscle a year ago.
Over the phone, I ordered a "Mandrel bent, stainless Y-pipe" without
pre-cats. When I spoke with the EM guy, he assured me that
the y-pipe WAS a mandrel bent piece.
(For those not familiar, mandrel bends are the method used to
keep a tube the same diameter without crimping at the bend.)
To make a long one short, I got a substandard part that was niether stainless steel nor mandrel bent. I called and spoke to Merle, and he said,
" Oh... does the website still say that?"
He would not accept return of the part without a restocking fee, even though
the problem was due to both an outdated listing on his website, and an employee that didn't know diddly or is a liar.
We worked out a price concession that I was still not happy with, but I accepted it so I could immediately sever all contact with EM.
This spring, I'll buy some mandrelbent sections from Jegs and have them
sectioned in.
Since last years experience, whenever someone asks me directly, I say that exotic muscle is out of business.
I ordered their headers back on Oct 7, still waiting. If you call them tomorrow, PLEASE report back when the situation is. I called back in December and I too was told late January.
I am sure they have some good reason for the lag in delivery... I am just glad that I am not in a hurry for them.
I called during the first week of January. Trevor said he expected to have enough sets to cover all current orders plus some extras by the end of the month. If I remember correctly he said the jigs were finalized, it was just taking the builder a little longer than he expected. Now that I look at my calendar, it's close to the end of the month, so maybe you should call them and ask for an update. Let us know what you hear if you do.
Yeah, I planned on calling Friday if I did not get them by then. In all fairness, it is not the end of the month yet... From what they were saying about them on the phone, sounds like they might be worth the wait. Or atleast I am hoping so!!

In all fairness, when I placed my original order, I was told they would be here by x-mas, then told again by mid January. I too am in no hurry to get them, but they do nothing on their end to let the customer know of any delays, unless the customer calls them. I hope they are worth the wait. I will call them this afternoon from work and post back tonight what they said. I think we all who are waiting in headers should do the same.:)
I just got a call from them saying that the production is DONE, now they are out at the coaters. Should be shipping by Friday or Monday, depending on the coaters.
They used my 96 LT4 to test the design and fit. I ordered them too. They experienced some delays with the fabricator, but they are done as of this weekend. They go to be hot-coated this week and should be ready to ship within a few days. They look great, fit great, and I am very confident that we will all be very satisfied :)
Of course, since my order, my LT4 fried when the oil pump drive sheared - so now I have to wait until the motor is rebuilt. I have great confidence in Exotic Muscle and they are doing my motor too. I will keep y'll posted. Hope to be :steering: soon. Paul
Yeah, I got a call from Merle today, he said they are being coated and will be sent within 2 weeks. When I ordered mine in October, I was told there would be a several week wait at least 10. No big deal. I just hope they are worth the wait.

FWIW, I love mine (bought new from another forum member). They are high quality , the finnish looks excellent, they fit very well and I was VERY pleased with the excellent gains especially in the mid range/upper mid range. :seeya
My bad! I spent the available time I had over the weekend replacing the heater core in my '89. I can't get over today, but will go by there tomorrow after work. Hopefully, they'll be there so I can get a picture to post. Paul
DRM no longer makes or has headers made for for C4's. They recomended TPIS headers for a "greast fit and best results". I've been hearing that from alot of people lately, so TPIS has my vote. TPIS has never let me down before.
I can't speak for the header delay, but I've got to say that Merle and Trevor have always been very knowledgeable, helpful and honorable to deal with. Frankly, there are VERY FEW high performance companies that are truly knowledgeable and legitimate out there. Especially for C4's. EM is one of them, along with Peter at Rippie. I would trust either implicitly.
