Default I need a clutch!!!

A few of you who went to the daytona event may know after the drags on sat I NEED a clutch.
My best qoute so far is a Center force dual friction for $475
What I want to know is wether the centerforce is the way to go or if there is a better clutch out there im planning on running nitrous with slicks so i need one that will hold up to the power, and pedal pressure doestn matter.
plus ive heard that you can not surface the flywheel so if that is true what kind of flywheel should I buy.

If im gunna spend the money and the time to do the clutch i wana do it right the first time so i dont have to do it again for a while
thanks

You'll hear all different opinions on this one. I bought a Star Performance Engineering Stage II. So far so good, but I just had it installed, so I can't make any real claims yet.

I would check them out. I know they've supposedly improved them from when I bought mine. Price was in the ballpark you said (can't remember exactly). I was pleased with the service.

The whole flywheel story is this. GM says not to. Some people still do, but it needs to be done in a special manner that most won't try (becasue it's dual mass). I just had mine worked (or scuffed I guess) as they say. Just to get off the glazing. People will say you don't need to replace it unless it's damaged or grooved.

If you can afford it, replace it.

I've heard good things about McCleod too.

if your STAR works your fine, getting them to work at all is the problem. RAM makes really nice oem clutches and also upgrades that bolt right in. centerforce works also. the problems come in when you mix and match. ram allows you to buy a camaro disc and vette plate. this is a GREAT idea for a single mass wheel since the camaro plate has springs. the DM is counterbalanced if i remember right which may cause issues with a flywheel change. i used a LT1 single mass camaro wheel but i also installed it when i rebuilt the bottom end for balance reasons. the jury is still out on the balance issues, so far no one has complained.
