1996 CE, LT-1, bone stock. When I go to start the car when it's cold, it fires right up. And about half the time when it's warm it does the same. But the other half of the time it will crank and no start. When I crank it again it starts but not smoothly. It has never not started, but I feel like there's something a little off, and I don't want to risk being somewhere if it finally decides not to start.
I think a good place to start would be checking the fuel pressure. Check the running pressure and also check how long the pressure holds after you shut it off.
Leaking injectors can cause flooding after shutting off until gas can evaporate. You should not see pressure drop in fuel after shut off. If you do, talk to these folks https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/?...SAAEgJ1s_D_BwE
Vacuum leaks also do that. I've had several cars including my 92 Vette do that. On my 92 the vacuum leak was the back of the power brake booster was cracked. I traced it by putting vice grips on the booster vacuum hose and my idle instantly improved. The vacuum hose above the battery that goes in to some diaphragm (might be cruise control) is another one I've replaced a few times on different c4s. That hose seems to be made of a brittle soft rubber.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
I also have a stock 96, and this spring, I was having intermittent starting issues. The good news it was something that was inexpensive to fix but the bad news is it could’ve burnt the car down. There was a small leak in the fuel regulator. It is located on the top rear of the engine and I noticed some previously greasy areas were clean due to the gas leak leaking. There had been a mild gas odor coming from the car for over a year and multiple mechanics missed it.
