Morning Fellow Vetters I am in need of some help, looking for some engine schematics/diagrams that will help to make sure that my associates and I are connecting the engine lines and hoses correctly in their proper places. I am not able to find anything that can help me and the local Chevy dealer service department, hasn't been any help at all. I am pretty sure due to the L83 engine is rare in itself, there may not be much out there circulating around for information. Can anyone point me in the direction or have information that would be helpful in this endeavor; getting tired...
They only offered the L83 in 1982 and 1984 model years. I had a camaro version of motor back in the day.. the crossfire NEVER worked right
The Chevrolet Corvette L83 engine is a 350 small-block V8 that was the only Corvette engine offered during the 1982 and 1984 mode years. It featured two cross-mounted 48mm throttle-body injection units, each feeding one bank of cylinders, with a combined total flow of 750 cfm. The engine was assigned the RPO L83 designation and was rated at 205 hp and 290 ft.-lbs. of torque. It was the only Corvette engine offered during the 1982 and 1984 mode years, with no Corvette having been officially produced in 1983. The carburetor was computer controlled by 1981, and the Crossfire induction system was also available on 1982 and 1983 Z28 Camaros, but only on the 305 cubic-inch motor
Thanks, that is some good information to have, now I just need to figure out the connections for the vacuum hoses. By the way this is a 1984 corvette and the previous owner called himself working on it and all the hoses were cut with bolts stuck on the ends, so not easy figuring were they all go. If you can't do it right JUST don't do it at all. :-(
Factory shop/service Manual, in 84 there were 2 manuals the General car and an Electrical manuals try to get both.
you can't count Chilton's or Hays manual totally they are general informational Not useless but general
I have found that Google & Bing and even you tube if properly worded can get you a lot of images of Engines from most angles.
So send pictures with arrows of your question the group kind of likes the what is it and where does it go challenge
