So I recently got my dad's c4 since he passed away and he loves to take his k swapped c4 to the drag strip and he had plans to do a big engine swap like 1000 hp+ however big he can get it. it already has it built with coilovers brakes stuff like that and just before he died he set back a hefty amount of money 100k for a powerful engine and he always said that if he passed away he wanted me to finish his build and i want to keep up with his dream of a consistent 6 or lower second car so what engine do you think would fit for that. as I said previously my budget is 100k what do you recommend
Ok so let me get this straight. Your dad K swapped a C4 along with coil overs? I gotta see this. Please post some pictures. Also you're saying 6 seconds, I'm amusing you mean in the 1/8th mile? And $100K for an engine? I'm the last person to tell anyone how to spend money but this can't be real. Or maybe you guys are extremely wealthy and $100k doesn't mean much to you. If so good for you.
There are a few people here who have fast drag race cars, I'm not one of them, but perhaps do a little search and PM those who do. 1KHP is almost always a power adder of course, but it's not extraordinary these days. You can probably do a reliable budget build even, and pay more attention to the drivetrain (custom driveshafts and axle shaft, beefed up diff and housing, or even nine inch).
If you're budget is $100K pretend it's only $50K because it usually ends up being double.
If you’re talking 6 sec 1/8 mile, probably less than 10k. Forged assembly, high flowing heads and intake, large cam. Then just add nitrous. 300-400 shot probably.
