My 94 6spd will start during an IAC reset procedure (pedal less than halfway) almost always, and is intermittent during clear flood, rarely starting during normal conditions.
Also throttle is sticking, though that may just be cables, I have been working on it.
Any ideas? I am a bit stumped. Thinking to just replace the IAC but don't want to throw parts at it. I have cleaned the IAC and throttle body already.

Clarify this. Are you indicating a “normal” start (simply turning key, nothing else) doesn’t start? But if you reset IAC or push throttle to floor it does start, sometimes? I’d be curious what your IAC counts are but even checking that with a laptop would give you commanded counts, not actual. So IAC could be bad. They aren’t too expensive.

could be, or blades hanging in bore if it worn. There is an ASR cable adjustment procedure you may want to start with. You can also check the rest screw as well, the throttle cam should positively rest on it.

No normal start, intermittent in flood clear, IAC partial throttle always starts. I am considering just getting a new IAC if the cost is low.

I'll look into this. I was messing with the throttle cables to disconnect the TB so wonder if that may have hung something up, though it doesn't seem to stick when I operate it by hand.
