Have mine in the shop as I type. They are not rebuilding the ABS but the have been tasked with completely flushing and bleeding the system. I verified that they have the programmer to operate the ABS while doing the flush. I'll see what the results are. Thanks
Good luck. If the system has been maintained it could work great. If it has not been maintained the inside of the ABS will look like the photos in my link. No amount of cycling with a Tech will clean it out. Dan Lies-within (mtechniqueauto.com)
Who here has said "It is it a stretch to believe that a complicated piece needs to be cleaned and rebuilt in an almost 30 year old car?" If you read my post you would have seen I took it to a GM specialist shop thaat told me... well anyway you can problby read i would think.

I agree with you that most "GM Specialists" do not know how to rebuild a Bosch ABS system, they don't have or know where to get repair parts, don't have the correct o-rings in stock and don't have a method to test the unit. Our Bosch ABS systems are not just used in C4's but many other cars. So, to have it rebuilt you need a "Bosch specialist" . Dan

I visited the site and since it states backordered, I assume the only option would be to send one in and see if it is rebuildable.
Thanks for the link. Mine is currently in the shop because I don't have a programmer to drive the ABS for a bleed. Best case scenario, they will contact me saying they were successful.
So I guess when you have these old C4s and your ABS pump starts leaking you just have to get rid of the car i suppose, throw them away especially if both circuits are weeping in the ABS pump/module...well done GM well ******* done.
Before when you refer to circuit, I'm guessing you mean the flow of fluid from MC to calipers, front and rear.
While some seem to be against it, I definitely will not be spending $1k plus to have one rebuilt, when I can either run new tubing or buy fittings to eliminate the ABS completely. Technology is great until it fails and cannot be cost effectively replaced, in which case we revert to what worked for 70+ years. My 1970 Vette didn't have ABS and I never had an issue driving it. At some point the driver is responsible for understanding how to drive, without depending on brake and traction control to compensate for drivers lack of skill.

OK, that is certainly your choice to make. I personally like the idea of ABS along with airbags, safety glass, seat belts, cruise control, fuel injection, turn signals, LED headlights, positraction, automatic transmissions, Automatic chokes, and oil filters. All things that did not exist back in "the good old days". Dan
Sorry for not getting back sooner. Had the brakes bled with the programmer, to operate the ABS. There is improvement, but still not the greatest feel. I'll drive it a while and see if I can adjust to them.

The more you activate the ABS at slow speed on light gravel the better to keep the ABS clean. Dan
