Hey guys, I’m brand new to this forum. If I am missing any info, please let me know and I’ll edit the post. I bought a 95 convertible from auction the was flooded. The waterline was right below the tape cassette of the radio. So far, the car is coming along nicely except for the ac compressor. The issue I am having is it never shuts off. Regardless of what I push on the ac controls, the ac clutch kicks on and off the the ac is on. The control unit isn’t the issue, so what else can I test or check?

You need to start with very basic diagnostics. The car runs and drives? Do you have the FSM(Factory/Field Service Manual) for the car? The AC Programmer is in the vicinity of the accelerator pedal and if water was at the radio receiver then it was likely under! Is it your problem? Diagnostics!
If that is the only problem you have found you should consider yourself very lucky. I hope you got a good deal. What do flooded cars go for at auction? Dan

Your AC problem with a flood car is just the FIRST issue you will be having...expect more down the road and we will be seeing a lot of posts from you here on the Forum !!

I just ordered a cd copy of the FSM. The only thing I can find in the driver side compartment around the pedal is the ac clutch relay. I’ll check for the programmer. As far as the overall car, I’ve flushed every fluid, changed every filter. Cleaned all the electrical components that have shown corrosion. The car fired right up and drives great. The electrical issues I’m having is the fuel pump stays on when the key is off, and the ac clutch is always on.
I know a real cheap guy who bought a Mercedes that was a flood car total. He bought it for next to nothing and slaved over it for months. I runs and drives but still smells like someone took a crap in it. Disgusting but for some of us it is all about money.

it’s a labor of love. I took the carpet and seats out, properly cleaned them, and so far the smell is gone
