Default 1993 Corvette Tachometer Filter

Any harm in disconnecting?
Anyone making them as OEM are discontinued?
I’ve read that a faulty one can cause engine to cut off at random.

You can try disconnecting it as expected you won't have a tech it might cause a code or two but for your testing purposes you should be ok.
I would look at for a intermittent cut out because it happened to me on my 93 first check the wires at the ICM and Coil on my car both the on ICM and Coil narrowed and corroded and over a bump or two it would cut out and dead stick you to the side of the road. You do the normal WTF under the hood and it would start until the next right bump.
Also look at the connector at the Coolant temperature sensor from what I have heard that to can cause a cut out again I replaced it and all was well after that.

I don't have a 93, but the wire separated off of my tach filter. Bypassed it and works like new.
