Corvette C4 doors locking without fob
i recently bought a key fob off of Ebay for 500 dollars, unfortunately it wouldn't pair to my car. my cars PKE system works perfectly its just that the fob is not working, so i just took out the battery and put it on my desk. the craziest thing though, i leave for work and then get home hours later: i get out of my car and close the door. then all of a sudden my doors lock and the car beeps...... all without the fob.... even if it was the fobs manipulation this wouldn't make sense because my key fobs battery is removed. anyone heard of this issue before? well i mean i wouldn't call it an issue but this is just freaky to me.

Check your lock switches one might be stuck, now to be clear because some are not aware of how PKE fobs work. Unlike most fobs you push a button something happens, with PKE you walk to your car it will unlock and as walk away same
You can arm or disarm the system (turn off or on)
Also if there is a problem inside the fob (the micro switch got stuck) or something is holding it might be doing weird things. Also fob cases are available guts are not so protect the guts

Are you sure your PKE is okay? I had trouble with mine where it would randomly lock/unlock and even pop the hatch up! I replaced my PKE probably 10-15 years ago, and it's been okay, though not great. I finally gave up on using the PKE altogether and just manually lock and unlock the car now.
