I've been looking around the internet, but can't seem to get a consistent answer. Aftermarket aluminum heads with 7/16 screw in rocker studs. Installing them should be simple, but I've only found conflicting info on both torque specs and whether to use a lube or loctite. Half of the stud holes go to the intake port and I'm just using permatex 59235, the same stuff I used on my head bolts. The other half are blind holes, and I've seen people say to use either loctite (all three types have been recommended), or instead to use moly, anti-sieze, or even just regular oil on the threads. Torque specs I've heard are between 40-65 ft/lbs. I'm definitely confused on what the correct method is, so what actually works?
Here is a tip though....If the heads are heli-coiled (my GM fast burn heads are), be sure to break the tab of the heli-coil that is in the intake rocker arm ports. Just use a small chisel and itll snap right off. Better now than have the engine ingest it...
