Default 1989 Head Gasket Time

Wow what an incredible time with this car. I’ve accumulated 36k miles mix of race and street miles, and now #7 was taking in coolant again. Funny thing was that when I purchased this it had the same failure location back in 1993! Search my previous post for the build. Had to bore .030” over to clean that mess up. So I’m looking to do two updates with this HG replacement, remove rear block off coolant passages via intake manifold gaskets (Fel Pro 1204), and use an MLS HG. Fel Pro has two options that I am considering, 1142-026 (.026”) or 1143 (.041”). Difference being thickness. I still had the original HG that measured (.054”).

One observation was that the end of the head gasket ring was really bad. Driver side was shot and passenger side was on its way too. Will post a video.

Short video of the steam show.
