Auto cross, lateral Gs, fuel sloshing away from the pickup perhaps? These cars are known for it when low in fuel. Mine will do it on the street under hard acceleration when low, even before the reserve is indicated.

how full is your tank when this happens?
I run half a tank, and it usually happens when I’m going on a straight.
I think my clutch is due for a replacement. I’m wondering if when I mat the accelerator, maybe the engine is spooling up to 5800 rpm and the clutch starts slipping around 5000?
An eye on the tach should answer that question, but then I’d expect it to happen on the street too, not just auto x. Maybe a heat soak issue and opti or something else is calling it quits at high rpm? Datalog if you have the means, might be revealing.

It could be fuel slosh. My C4s will pull air and the engine will cut out at 1/2 tank under hard acceleration. Try running with a full tank of fuel at the next event.
