I have a 1985 Corvette with the L98. The previous owner got halfway through carb-swapping it and water got into the engine by a hole in the hood so the whole block is rusted inside out. I found an LS9 350 sbc from a 1970 C10 for $700 with less than 10,000 on a rebuild.
Is there anything I should consider in terms of integrating into the 85 or if it's even worth the time?
Any engine swap tips in general would be appreciated as it's my first time. Although I'd like to keep a 350 sb in it, as I think they're neat and I don't really care to chase numbers.
I think the LS9 is the supercharged engine in the C6 Zr-1. I have never heard of an LS9 in a '70 C10, not that you couldn't but I think you are a little confused on what you are looking at. Any SBC should work in your car with the right accessories and oil pan.
Not the 6.2 L supercharged LS you're talking about. It's a 5.7 L (350 cu in) sbc with the code "LS9" used in 69-86 C/K trucks. For the accessories, could I use the ones I got with brackets/mounts or would it be better to get ones that fit the block?
