Default got warm, bogged, cooled ran fine, why?

was taking the 1992 to a little show today. 90s but felt 100 degrees. with AC set to 68, Temperature just over 200 steady on interstate for 15 miles then as I returned to regular highways it began to climb slowly. got up to 230 and car bogged down (not miss). found a stopping spot and stopped for an hour. Checked coolant and was full. Turned AC off and headed home with no issue. Temp started around 175 and rose to 203 steady and car had no bogging.

I know run hot troubleshooting (clean / flush / verify fans / replace radiator, etc) but where did the bog come from in the high 220/230 range of temp?

thank you for any suggestions.

Its going to start pulling timing when you get that hot. If it runs fine now that its cooler I wouldn't worry about it.
