Recently purchased this 85 Z51 and while looking under the driver's side dash I found this connector that's unplugged. One side has yellow and green/white wires and the other has two black wires all kinda beefy, and the connector has the terminals in a T shape, one horizontal and one vertical. What does this go to? I've searched and searched and can't find anything and this connector doesn't appear in the back of the FSM
Your clutch activated start switch. In the FSM look in the electrical 'STARTER' schematic maybe 116 for confirmation. Yours should crank with clutch NOT DEPRESSED!

Oh wow spot on! And it's true! My car cranks without the clutch pushed! I guess I'll leave that unplugged. Thanks!

Honestly! Like the information was in the FSM somewhere but I couldn't find it for the life of me and was even looking over the complete wiring diagrams in the back for the right wire colors and going almost crosseyed trying to find the right circuits, but he knew right where they were in the book
I actually did that to mine purposely because the switch started to fail and looked like it would be a PITA to replace. Easier to just short the wires together, which is what is likely happening under that electrical tape.
Sure beats push starting it like I had to do a few times.

I had wondered how disconnecting a switch would bypass it haha
