Default AC line/hose recommendations

So we (dad and I) are doing our best to get my 1994 corvette back on the road. Part of that was looking at the AC which hasn't been working since I got it. Shorting the sensor on the low pressure side got the compressor going so we deduced that it needed a refill. We evacuated the system and slowly started filling it. And then there was a loud pop and a weird smell. The pressure line had broken, looked like it was at the crimping right after the compressor. So we need to replace that hose assembly. The question is, what do we replace it with? What is the recommended option? We basically have to order these parts from overseas (we're in europe) so getting new parts if we receive a dud is expensive and time consuming.

Rockauto and Summit both seem to have the UAC and Four Seasons. Good? Bad? Zip Corvette has "Old Air". Is there an AC Delco option somewhere? What are your experiences with AC line brands and where have you gotten them for your cars?

Check with local automotive repair shops that specialize in air conditioning repair. They can build you a replacement hose in their shop.

UAC is okay, not as good as OE but decent.

I agree, the cost to ship from the US to Eur would be quite expensive. Making lines is pretty easy, I have with my Mastercool manual crimper for other vehicles and I am sure any well equipped shop there would be able to easily make you a hose as needed or potential manifold set.

If you want to order from over here, I would suggest holding out for an OE set

i bought a set for my 85 when i converted to R134a from rockauto. they were genuine GM parts, rated for 134a and marked accordingly and were supposed to be a plug and play install. they looked good and appeared to spot on original for an install. problem - didn't fit for schitt, couldn't use them. cleaned and flushed my originals and reused.
