I am about to tighten my roller rockers I got with the hot cam kit and I just wanted to make sure that the below procedure also applies to roller rockers. Any tips or tricks for roller rockers?
Thanks a lot!
Here is a summary of what you do: Get the rotor button pointed at #1 wire on the distributor and then align the line on the vib damper to the TDC pointer on the block. At this point, you adjust both intake and exhaust on #1 cylinder. The GM manual recommends you go to the "zero" lash and then tighten 1 turn of the nut. While in this position, you should also adjust the following: exhaust (3,4 & 8), intake (2,5 & 7). You would then rotate the crank one turn and align the line to the pointer (#6 at TDC) and adjust the following: exhaust (2,5,6 &7), intake (3,4,6 & 8). Please be reminded that just because a cylinger is at TDC, the piston may not be in the firing position. It my by completing the exhaust and starting the intake.
If you are going to have the exact same rocker arm setup as the LT4 (which I'm assuming you will from the HotCam kit), then you simply torque them to 18 ft-lbs, per the GM service manual, and leave them.

The hot cam kit comes with adjustable rockers, do not use this method.
