I've been trying to contact TPiS for the past week and no answer (email, phone, website contact, etc). This normal?
Anywho, I'm new to C4's and I didn't build this car, was for the most part given it to maintain. The build is about 10 years old.
The issue i'm having is just a good loss of power and what fells like a miss, kinda. Couple injectors are ticking fairly loud too.
Poking around the fuel system the fuel regulator's vacuum connection, the metal nipple is loose. i'm assuming thats a decent vacuum leak. The ticking injectors need a clearing or just replaced i figure. Basic spec: Dart 180 pro 1 64cc heads, ZZ9 cam, TPiS 52mm TB, EGR delete, port intake matching, roller rockers, has headers and full exhaust, trans shift kit, and a few other odds and ends.
My questions to you guys.
1. With a HCI setup like this, would you still use a factory injector or bigger? 2. If a factory injector are we just cranking up fuel pressure a bit along with the tune or is it just the tune change? What would possibly be a fuel pressure target?
When pulling things apart, recommendations on a parts list for gaskets, orings, etc?
i'd need a new regulator, is the pictured one factory?
Injectors have come a long way in the last 20 years. I would swap those out for something better and then have it tuned. Delphi factory flex fuel injectors are hard to beat for their flow rate and reliability. Very easy to tune also. You will need injector hats and wiring adapters to use them but even with that they would be way less expensive then other options that don't work as well. That and the tuning data for them is easy to find online.
Your injectors look like factory ... call Jon @ Fuel Injector Connections 770-888-1662 he will hook you up . The fuel pressure regulator is aftermarket adjustable . Which vacuum nipple is loose ? If its the one on the regulator you could probably have it brazed ... radiator shop ? ... or replace it ... the others screw in . What is your current fuel pressure ?
