Default optispark vacuum tie in point?

Putting a "new" optispark in, the new cap is vented whereas my old one was not. Pictured below, I have the harness routed to the right side of the engine (from the front), as per instructions, where it is to be tied into the vacuum system. I don't know exactly where to tie it in, however. It looks like it should go where the black arrow is pointing (because that's where it naturally lays), but I'm a tiny bit hesitant because the diameter of that line is much smaller than the line provided in my harness, so I just wanted to make sure I put it in the right place the first time.

Go one over to the right. It is the port connected to the brake booster, the larger hose above and toward the cabin. Here is a picture of my Petris vented opti on my 94, it's the brass fitting.

Got it, many thanks. I didn't get this opti from Petris so it didn't come with that brass fitting... any idea where I may be able to source it? Apart from Petris that is (although maybe if I ask....)

When I installed my Petris, I didn't use the brass fitting. I thought it was too bulky and not necessary. I T'd into the vacuum line just in front of the power brake fitting. Everything fit under the injector cover, and was inconspicuous to an NCRS mechanical judge. They didn't find it.

You already have the T on your vent hose. Remove the rubber elbow from the fitting in front of the brake booster hose. Nip the rubber elbow off and put the short section of hose on the plastic tubing. Put the 'branch' of the T onto the nipple on the manifold.

If you want a "Petris T" it is a 1/4" NPT "Run T". You also need a 1/4" MPT to 1/16" hose barb. Should be available at any Ace Hardware.

Agree with IHBD, just skip it. I left it on because it came with the kit and at that point I'd already screwed it in and was no harm, but it doesn't add value that I can tell.

Just wanna make sure I'm understanding this right -- I should cut the rubber elbow right before the 90 degree turn and slide the little remaining bit on the T?

Put the "branch" of the T onto the manifold fitting. You don't need any of the rubber elbow. Just the plastic tubing. Push the tubing into the short section of hose that (in your picture) is pointing towards the rear of the engine.

Got it. I'll look at it tomorrow, was only concerned cause of how much smaller the plastic tubing is than the vacuum hose that hooks to the T. I'm sure that'll be much much cleaner than how it is now:
