What do you mean by "does not work". If you mean you hear nothing from the speakers that could be the amps on the speakers are bad. On the 91 I had two speakers made no noise because of bad amps. My 95 had one front speakers made a static sound which also was because of a bad amp. Once amps were replaced all was good.

While your issue can be the amps are bad there is still possibilities that the radio itself has an issue. I do know there are vendors that provide repair services for the Bose radio but have no experience with any of them. Hopefully another member(s) can provide you with trouble shooting methods to determine if it is the radio, amps or both. In both my 91 and 95 I knew the radio was working because other speakers were working.

The CD issue is most likely because it's just plain wore out due to age.

typical of a 90's GM Radio, I sent mine to a gentleman in FL fixed radio and speakers.

I used https://www.doctordons.com/ for the OEM CD/Cass in my previous 1992 Corvette. He cleaned, replaced belts and fixed what ever was wrong and it worked great until I sold that one. I wish my current project had OEM but too many other priority jobs to buy one right now.
