Anyone have recommendations for a GOOD replacement? Not looking to upgrade to a different CS series, just want a good replacement.
Mine slung the pulley and belt off at the gas station this morning; luckily I was only a half mile from home, but the temp was still 240 and volts were at 10
before I got it back in the garage. Just started making a whining noise, then the batt light came on. Got it home and the alternator pulley was laying on the steering rack.
Has an AutoZone one on it that the PO put on right before I bought it four years ago; hardly had any miles on it. Typical AutoZone electrical junk.
No matter were you go it's Crap Shoot I have had an Auto Zone in my car for years. But there cheaper than some places more expensive than Amazon. But when it craps out you can slam it down and say give me another and most of the time they don't blink and give you another
IIRC The CS130D is a bolt-in substitute for the CS130 including the bracketry bosses on the rear. The AD has proven to be more reliable than the POS CS130. The connector plug is different but pigtails are readily available.
There are small bearing and big bearing versions of the CS130. Count the number of 'ribs' behind the pulley/fan. 3 ribs are the small bearing, 5 ribs are the large bearing. The large bearing version is of course preferable.
It sounds like the pulley nut wasn't adequately torqued. Sometimes the replacement pulley isn't the same as the original, so the original gets swapped onto the replacement. If this is done at the counter and I don't trust the procedure or equipment used, I give it a touch-up with my impact before I install it.

Reason: Had the model number incorrrect. The Resident C4 Ass-Hat found the error.
