I'm looking at the schematic of the release switches for the brake lights and the cruise control. Both need adjustment, but can't see how you remove the
retainers. I haven't crawled in there yet and trying to figure out how to get them off or loose before i throw out my back.
Any quick remedies?
Are you trying to remove the switches by the pedals, first there is no magic button or release they are held by toothed spring retainer.
The how remove, take a larger screwdriver or something to put between switch plunger the pedal, push pedal insert wedge lightly pull pedal back the switch will slide backwards and with enough wedging fall out.
Before you throw your back out have you done some simple tests
1) is the fuse good
2) is there good vacuum to actuator (small hose)
3) if you apply vacuum to large hose is it restricted or plugged, it's not uncommon for either hose to rot out due to there closeness to battery acid
Fuse and hoses are in good shape. If i just touch the brake pedal, brake lights come on. Cruise switch is always in contact. I changed the brake booster
and there must be some difference in the length of the push rod.
reach up to all the Switches with the Brake Pushed and slide them Toward the Pedals, the switches will slide Fairly easy. once there slid let go of pedal and they will self Adjust, do the same with clutch if so equipped.
you may need to give a light tug back on pedals to make full contact on all switches
I don't understand what you mean? All what banging around and rod disconnected?
You replaced the booster and it has has a loop that is connected to the Pedal and getting the loop on takes a little effort and stroking the pedal a little bit to slide it flush and get the retaining clip on.

One other thing to Look at While under the Dash by the Pedals, coming from the Steering Column area there should be a square plug with a Small Flat Terminal plugged into it. That's the Cruise control connection to Directional Stalk by the Steering wheel so make sure that's plugged in.
