Default 85 Corvette 3rd brake light adaptor module

I have an 85 with a high mounted 3rd brake light that a previous owner installed. They actually did a pretty decent job of it, only problem is it doesn't work. I traced the issue back to an adaptor module that seems to have melted or otherwise failed. Searching the forum I found a bit more info on the module from 383vette in a post from 2012

I bought the module I'm using now decades ago when 3rd brake lights were being introduced. It tapped into the left and right brake light wiring and figured out if the brakes were being applied or the signicators. It made it easier than wiring up to the front to the brake switch. I don't think they make these things anymore because there must be next to zero demand.
So now I'm faced with the task of finding another one. Does anyone have one or know where I can get one?

Ps: I'd like to just get the 3rd light working if at all possible. Removing it would require me to do some body work on patching up the holes in the hatch, and I'm not good at that.

Just tap into one of the current brake lights and add the ground at the B-pillar where there is a ground screw.

This doesn't work since the 3rd brake light will blink whenever the blinker is on. Hence the module.

Did you open the "module" to see what's inside and what the cause is?

I started trying to open it and saw a circuit board in there. I think at this point I'll have to break the housing open. It doesn't really work as is anyway

Search GM 999375 on eBay, these are the early "add a 3rd brake light" kits....if you go through the pictures, I believe you will see your "module" included...these can be had for $10-$20. You could buy one for the part you need! Good luck👍

Oh thank god 😭
This is exactly what I was looking for! Seems to be the same as the one I've got. This is great news because I opened up the other one and it's a nightmare in there lmao.
Thank you so much!
