Default 84 dash lights fixed

Saturday was 70 degrees, so I was bored & decided to pull the display.
I've never had it out before.
I read on here a guy said he could take his out in 10 minuets,So thats the way I went at it,confident.I had it out in 15.
I read the articles I found here at,
http://www.corvettemagazine.com
and
http://www.batee.com/corvette
I attatched a new wire to the black, with white stripe, wire that comes off the ambient temp sensor to ground. It looks like a half inch thick quarter, located by your left foot.
Then I took the display to the local TV repair shop.you just take out a bunch of 7/32 head screws.then gently pull it apart.
Then it was all up to the guy wearing magnifying glasses. He can see where the solder has broken loose from the electronic parts.
The pins they mention on the websites were 1 problem, but this guy resoldered nearly every terminal on the middle board & about 30% of the one on the top board.
Got the new halogen bulbs from NAPA 4 #882 & 3 #74.
It works great.Its really bright.
I dont know what eles to say but the vette gods were with me.
So if your having problems dont be intimidated like I was for 2 years.Theres nothing to it.
