Whole new (improved) accessory drive system?
This is a picture of my engine... to set the stage:
Now, I am a HUUUGE fan of the Cross-Fire Injection... not for any other reason than because it's unique, quirky, and so "period" for the time. I had one on my 1982 Pontiac TransAm, and I still have several parts in my garage from back in the day. It's NOT a great motor, and I get that... it's basically two 4cyl Pontiac Fiero Rochester 2.5 TBI units diagonally-opposed in a cross-ram style of intake (that badly needs the ports hogged out in the intake manifold). But my two favorite things in this engine bay are the valve covers, and the air cleaner. If I could replace it with an LS motor and manage to put those valve covers on, and the air cleaner, I would. Haha...
But here's my main question. This engine has a smog pump, AIR injection exhaust manifold, exhaust gas re-circulation, and dozens of other stuff (and vacuum lines) that in a modern iteration of this motor absolutely do not need to be there. I realize for some states, all of these devices in their original configuration, are required to pass emissions testing. But I also know that with better and more modern ECM control, you can effectively eliminate all of this, and with better (non-pellet style cats, and secondary cats) you can get even better emissions than stock, with better performance. Is anyone selling a kit (or is there another GM vehicle that I can pull things off) to replace the entire accessory system of that car? I know there's a smog pump bypass kit, but I'm also going to swap out the old alternator with a CS130, include a decoupler pulley, and probably go with the newer V5 variable compressor (instead of that enormous 20pound unit), etc.
I was on a parts buying binge a few years ago, and I acquired a brand new FAST EZ-EFI 2.0 system with the GM retrofit harness, as well as an MSD 6EFI box, and I also purchased a MicroSquirt kit with the 6 foot harness... so I have a couple of options. Has anyone upgraded their CFI system with aftermarket control? I have two of the Holley 3739 (?) TBI replacement units that have the larger bore and bigger injector, so I might use those too.
GOAL: Keep the stock look, but clean up the engine bay and improve efficiency, reliability, and performance, in that order.
Thank you!!!

That’s great!!! Any chance I could see a picture? I’m thinking of converting to the V5 compressor, which is variable and does not require its own belt… just runs off the shared serpentine.
Did you also convert to the CS130 alternator?

I only have this pic on my phone. In the c4 general discussion, i have a long build thread entitled "just for the hell of it" tbat has alot more pics if interested.
