I need rear tires so I want to replace all of them with new. I run a few autox a year, do a high speed track event at Pocono once a year ,and drive the car pretty hard :D I think I narowed it down to these 2 tires. I don't want the GSCs again. Any opinions on these tires? I had the BFG KDW's in 18" on 2000 wheels on my 95 and they worked great on the track. So I'm leaning to the BFGs. But read the Supercar tires are good. My buddys 02 ZO6 handles real good. (I don't need no "Goodyear suck because my 10year old rock hard GSCs have no traction" post)
I'm in your situation right now also....I'm going to get some G-Force Kd's or just go cheap with Dunlop SP8000. But If I do the Dunlops I get to buy another set of wheels and some Hoosiers :yesnod: Just trying to figure out if I want to spend $1100 or $2800 ugh.
I like the pilots and then if its only for dry weather, the Bridgestone KD. The pilots will give you 98% of the dry handling of the Bridgestones but they are better in the wet, quieter, wear longer, and have a softer more comfortable ride. Best all around out there but you pay for it. Also, check Firestone SZ50EP.

Alright .... flame me, doc my points, refuse to let me play your Corvette-Riender games.
Bet I might be the only one who likes, votes for, and publiclly aknowleges that I like my GoodYears.
Alright let me have it. I have heard it alot ... beleive me. Actually I do not mind. While the demand for GoodYears drops I can keep buying them for less and less.
And yes I buy them because I like them not because of the dropping price.

LOL i will allow you to edit that post before i make fun of you...read it again :jester
this contest is a no brainer if you drive mostly dry. the michelins are really overpriced, i mean i like the tire. it's just not worth what they charge for one. the KD has been tested by everyone and produces the best numbers of any street tire in all out performance. it also costs less than the michelin, get the KD's & a second set of wheels with silica rubber for the rain if you need it.
I didn't put the Pilots because I really don't care for them.(same for Firestone) The prices between the Goodyears and BFGs are only around $50 so that's no big deal. With the exhaust I can't hear the tires, don't care if they ride harsh (like you can really tell  ) I figure I put on about 4000 miles a year so the wear issue isn't really a consern either. Both tires are about the same as my GSCs for Wet traction and I never had a major problem with Hydroplaning driving in some pretty bad rain storms. I think I'm going with the BFGs...... maybe :D
Flame on! :mad
I read what I said vs. the KD and I don't see anything wrong with it. I acknowledged that the KD is better dry, but I would say a close second is the pilots, and the pilots do the rest of the jobs better. The more makers used these tires in the 10,000 hp shootout in Car and Driver than all the other tires available combined. The only restrictions were that the tires had to be street legal. The whole course was dry and the winner was a Lingenfelter TT C5 with pilots. The course included quarter mile, twists, a high speed run, and braking so they couldn't be that bad. If I was doing autocross that required street tires or something, I might choose the KD. But for a daily driver in NYC area, you can't beat the pilots. As for price, they weren't that much more. I would have also recommended the Pole Positions but they don't come in 315 so they won't fit a GS coupe.
I'm tired of changing tires for the track and saying its wet out so I better not drive the car today. 335 Pilots are going on the back. Vipers and SC C'5s run in the 11's with the Pilots, why not a C4. JMHO
Goodyears GSC :D

you called the KD a bridgestone...unless i missed something & BFG is made by bridgestone?? even if it is we don't refer to TPIS cams as comp cams, even though thats who makes them :jester your statement was fine, that's the only part i was picking on :steering:
also, the price is quite a bit different, couple hundred bucks if i remember right on the KD vs Sport. the Sport has decent wet traction to tell you the truth which the KD lacks. i won't even diss the michelins that bad in the rain, it's the 315 that kills there rain performance, not the rubber. also the goodyear supercar is a good tire, at least the first year and only in dry weather. they harden fairly quickly and are a total nightmare in the rain but they ride great, handle great and weigh less than the rest.
I just replaced my stock GSC's with the F1-D3's, and absolutely love them. Very good ride, traction, and handling. I paid $411 for the rear two tires (285/40), walk out price, everything included. Don't overlook these, they're really good.

Dooh! I was looking at the content of the comparision, not the company stuff. Good catch. :leaving: :bb
