96 c4 front upper control arm bushings

96 c4 front upper control arm bushings
Good morning vette community , does anyone know of a good video on installing upper A arm bushings? I wasted a whole day trying to install these thing ended up trashing one and had to order a new kit. I tried the press, thread rod with grade 8 fender washers. The bushings expand as your trying to press pull. Thought about dipping them in hot water then pressing warm.
Im sure most of the c4 community has done them any advice ?

Etwas Bauen did a 3-part series on front suspension rebuild, part 2 he gets into the installation of the new bushings (uppers start at about 14:36). He has an early C4 (85 I think) but most of this should apply to late C4 too, in principle. He did polyurethane bushings, and it seems like the trick is Sil Glyde to lubricate them, and he just uses a vise, a mallet, and a big socket to drive them in. I don't know if you're using rubber, if so maybe it wouldn't be as easy, but definitely try the Sil Glyde.
