Yes. The system was evacuated with a vacuum pump for sure. My mobile mechanic did it. I saw his machine, since we chit-chatted about the process. I'll definitely have him test the fans for sure. Thank you!
Next time your AC guy hooks up the gauges, check the pressures at a steady 2500-3000 rpm. If they’re at least around the 30/200 you have been saying, then there’s nothing wrong with the mechanical part of the system. (Those I doubt you actually have r12 in your system, it’s probably some type of propane based refrigerant) So at least you can rule that out. My guess is something is up with your new controller.
Will do. I'll have him do exactly as you say. I bought the r12 from people in the neighborhood through marketplace. i'm pretty sure it's old school r-12, otherwise i agree with you.
Got it. I will follow your lead. I messed around with the temperature today again. It's cool here today, in the 50's and 60's. My temp when driving around doing chores did not go above 73. That is when I went to code "16" on the climate control module.
By the way, I have a 160 degree thermostat since it gets so hot here in the summer. I also installed an extra fan behind my condenser to keep the car cooler. That fan has been there for three years now and my C4 does not run hot like others do.
