Are the LT1's center bolt valve covers directional? I.E. is there a up and down? The passenger side has the PCV hose connection towards the firewall but I was wondering if the driver side could flip upside down. The pattern in the ribs has always looked backwards to me.
There is not a directional bolt pattern. OEM valve covers have drippers molded into top side that should be over rocker arm nuts. The PCV vent hose hole is on passenger side. Picture appears to be aftermarket covers
I cant speak for the factory valve covers, but i know my aftermarket valve covers (which of course had to be modified for the alternator setback) do indeed have a ‘what side is up/down orientation ‘ matters
the drip tabs in them around the center bolt guides are longer on one side vs. the other
so the tabs wont clear my aftermarket 1.7:1 rockers if you try to install it upside down
