Default Turbo on a CrossFire Engine

I was wondering If it would be okay to run like 5-6psi Boost on a stock CF engine? I was thinking of this because I would then be able to make my Turbo setup and use only a small amount of boost now, and then when I get my engine changed and gets forged internals and then change the drivetrain to a stonger one I could turn up the boost to make more power. Is it worth the trouble now Or should I just wait untill I put in the new Engine and drivetrain ( which would be in about 6 months). :chevy Sorry for posting so many threads, ;)

I used 10 psi boost with my Vortech supercharger on the stock Cross-Fire engine. I did not use any boost retard, only extra fuel from a progressive 2:1 fuel pressure regulator. Stock ECM and no chip tuning. With the restrictive intake it can take a lot of boost without getting too high cylinder pressure. The stock pistons are forged TRW 464664.

Will the stock DriveTrain Hold up? SInce its a Wet intake could I run say 7-8 psi Boost without intercooling? OR no? If I do intercool could I Run 10psi Boost on the stock engine like yours and still have no transmission breakage problems? Another thing is did you change the TB's? OR did you upgrade the Fuel injectors to bigger ones to provide enough fuel or did you just change the regulator? Thanks for your response :yesnod:

I used the stock injectors but I modified the TBI's for boost.
Pictures here: http://w1.605.telia.com/~u60505093/v...od/tbi_mod.htm

I lost second gear in the tranny the first day with boost. The Dana36 did not last a month.

WOW  The transmission is that weak, thats amazing, I thought the Transmission could take more than that, Would mine ripp up like that or where you just driving hard? Say I dont mash the gas at stop lights when they turn green, but If I'm already rolling and do it, can it still break? Like 15mph then open the throttle to wide open would it destroy the Drivetrain like that or no?

HMMM, HOw much would it cost to rebuild my stock transmission? To say handle 350Fly HP or more? Will this cost in the thousands? Or is it fairly cheap to rebuild the 700R4 to handle a bit more power? I dont want to go crazy on this Transmission seeing it that I'm going to be ditching it for a TH400 Later on :yesnod:

DAUM I could get a TH400 with converter that handles 800HP for $1400, but then I'll have to buy another Driveshaft. :nonod:
